MISGUIDED MANHUNT SENDS U.S. KIDS BACK TO CULT IN HOLLAND!
USA -- October 30, 1999 -- On Thursday, October 21, at approximately 7 PM, FBI agents surrounded a home near Rice University in Houston, Texas, and arrested Christopher Yavelow. Yavelow and his daughters Celina (14) and Stephanie (11) had been staying at the house visiting friends since October 1 (see related news: http://www.StolenChildren.net/pr/justice.html).
When the half-dozen or so agents arrived, the children rushed to shield their father, pleading "Please don't take our father away. He has not kidnapped us. We are here of our own free will! We want to be in America. We are Americans!" The heart-wrenching standoff initiated by the children lasted about 15 minutes while other household members collected medications for Yavelow, who is a heart patient with several other serious chronic medical conditions. Against their wishes, the children were turned over to Harris County Children's Protective Service.
As a bill for over $1000 in telephone calls clearly attests, Yavelow had spent the month of October frantically searching for a lawyer in Maryland. His efforts met with little success. Eventually, he found a way to keep Maryland authorities appraised of his efforts via regular email communication with Maryland State Prosecutor Andrew White, Deputy States Attorney Howard Merken, and Maryland FBI Agent Michael Charikofsky. It appears to have been information provided by AOL about Yavelow's emailing that led the FBI to his capture.
Ironically, when the FBI arrived, Yavelow was on his way to meet with lawyers at the Texas Fathers for Equal Rights organization in an effort to determine some way to turn himself in without losing his children. This move was in response to advice allegedly originating from State Prosecutor Andrew White; advice that had been relayed to him by a third party that same morning (see related news: http://www.StolenChildren.net/pr/honesty.html).
Following his arrest the scenario played out very much as it has in over 13,000 similar cases that were reported in an article entitled "America's Stolen Children" (David Levine) appearing in the September 1999 issue of Readers Digest. The children were immediately returned to their non-American parent Monique Fasel (from Switzerland) with the order from the court that she turn over all passports and stay in this country for a hearing.
Fasel, who had earlier tricked the Maryland courts and FBI into converting a useless piece of Dutch paper into an American custody order, did not comply with the court decision but thumbed her nose at the US legal system and fled immediately to Holland, kidnapping the children in the process. Conversely, Yavelow, who was released from Harris County jail on a $25,000 bond after serving 6 days, turned over his and his daughters passports immediately upon request.
In other words, the moment Yavelow was finally requested to turn over the children and their passports as well as is his own he did so, whereas Fasel, a Swiss citizen, who had initiated the court order using bogus Dutch papers in the first place, kidnapped the children in complete contempt of the ruling, making a mockery of the United States legal system in the process.
The problem is not new. In fact, with over 13,000 victims already in the same boat as Yavelow's children, the Senate has been holding two special investigations of the problem: the House Committee on International Relations' hearing on " International Child Abduction: Implementation of The Hague Convention on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction" (most recent hearing: October 14, 1999) and the Senate Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Criminal Oversight hearing on "The Justice Department's Response to International Parental Kidnapping" (most recent hearing: October 27, 1999). For all practical purposes, none of the American parents have ever seen their children again. Testimony from both hearings is available on the web.
Fasel, who suffers from both DRMMS (Divorce-Related Malicious Mother Syndrome -- see http://www.microserve.net/~steflink/malice.htm) and PAS (Parent Alienation Syndrome -- see http://www.parentalalienation.org/pasfound1.htm, http://www.parentalalienation.org/pasfound2.htm, and http://www.parentalalienation.org/pasfound3.htm), and is a confirmed child molester and practicing Wicca witch, pulled off a master deception. She duped the courts, judges, lawyers, police, newspapers, TV networks, and FBI. With their misguided help she was able to kidnap Yavelow's two daughters and remove them from the country of their birth and citizenship where they have spent more than half their lives. She will now attempt to carry out her vows to remove their father, their American Citizenship, and Christianity from their lives forever.
The girls, who had spent three days preparing their costumes for a party at Second Baptist Church in Houston, will instead be forced to participate in Satanic rituals on Halloween. Experts have warned Yavelow that terrible things are done to girls at Wicca covens upon their first menstruation. He has nightmares of what they will do to Celina if this occurs on Halloween, the "witch's Sabbath" their most sacred of holidays. In January Fasel abducted their children against their will from the family home into the house of Monique's so-called Wicca high-priestess for two months.
Yavelow has other things to worry about too. Regardless of the fact that all FBI charges have been dropped in both Texas and Maryland and contrary to statements and promises made by Maryland State Prosecutor Andrew White, Deputy State Attorney Howard Merken, and Maryland FBI Agent Michael Charikofsky, for some unknown reason there are people in Maryland who seem to have made it their raison d'etre to put Yavelow behind bars for a year -- in particular, Deputy State Attorney Howard Merken who is apparently working in collusion with Fasel. Oddly, Yavelow has not lived in Maryland for 32 years and neither his children nor Fasel have ever been residents of Maryland. One wonders why the state of Maryland seems to think it has jurisdiction over this matter.
Now, well after the fact, Fasel may have been awarded custody in Holland. This is generally automatic in cases like Yavelows. They had joint custody according to Dutch law and were waiting for their first custody hearing to be scheduled when Yavelow and his daughters left Holland, fully within their legal rights. In Holland, when one parent abducts his or her children, no matter how grave the justification, the other parent is awarded custody. Father's caring about their children is a relatively new concept for the Netherlands, where it wasn't until 1990 that fathers were even granted any parental visitation rights at all, and shockingly, is was not until 1998 that a joint custody policy was incoporated into the laws!
The curious thing is that no one seems to notice that if Fasel is only just now receiving custody or having custody hearings (again, without Yavelow present), how could she possibly have had it at the beginning of September when she came over to the United States waving translations of Dutch language documents that she claimed were custody papers -- translations that were never authenticated.
Now, while his daughters are being "de-programmed" by an anti-Christian organization from California, having their Dutch paperwork altered to indicate that they are not American citizens, have never been to America, and did not come from America, and being further indoctrinated into the new-age cult rituals of Anthroposophy, Luong Minh Dang, and Wicca, Yavelow will probably spend the next year or so in court or in prison. His crime: trying to fulfill his daughters dreams of returning to their home country, the United States, so that they could attend normal American schools and churches, have American friends and speak English.
Visibly shaken from his ordeal in Harris County jail and the knowledge that he will likely never see his children again Yavelow states, "I did what any decent father would do and the moment I was shown the charges against me, I complied completely. The court records in this case indicate that I stated on September 1, 1999 that I am eager to face my wife in a United States court. That still goes."
